CPS In-Service Days:

Wondering what to do with your kids when school isn't in session? Bring them to Facets for seasonal programs of films from all around the world! Tickets are $9 for adults, $6 for children, and FREE for Facets members. All movies are official selections from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.

Screenings at Max Palevsky Cinema:

Max Palevsky Cinema is located in Hyde Park, just off Lake Shore Drive via the 57th St. exit. On-street parking is available on the Midway Plaisance and on 59th Street. In addition, all University parking lots are free and open to the public all day on Saturday. Tickets ($9 adults, $6 children) are available online or at the door. Tickets are FREE for Facets members and DOC members. All films are official selections from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.

Time Trip: Curse of the Viking WitchIn this fantasy adventure packed with thrills for the whole family, ninth-grader Valdemar meets Benedict, a scientist who has built a time machine! What Valdemar doesn’t know is that back in the Viking Age, an evil witch cast a curse on Benedict, making him immortal. Benedict can’t travel back in time to settle the score, so he needs Valdemar’s help! Together with his little sister, Valdemar journeys to the past, fights the wily witch, and learns the importance of responsibility and family. (Screened in Danish with English subtitles.)

 

 

Screenings at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum:  

One Saturday each month, Facets Children's Programs presents Nature at the Movies, four 20-minute programs of nature-themed films from around the world, at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. All movies are official selections from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival.

 

Tickets are good for all screenings on a given day, and can be purchased for $3 at the Nature Museum box office. Facets members, Nature Museum members, and children 3 & under are FREE at all Nature Museum screenings! NOTE: Ticket price does not include admission to the museum - Nature Museum admission prices are $9 for adults & $6 for kids.
