Filmmaking Workshop

Where does your child dream of going, and how will they get there: Time capsule? Space ship? Treehouse on wheels?

Let the adventure begin through the magic of film and the green screen color key technique!

Kids learn how special effects can bring their dreams to life in a hands-on workshop as they discover:

• Basic platforms of narrative filmmaking, including storyboards and shot design
• Character and setting development
• Basic set construction, using found materials
• Principles of “green screen” technology
  

Aaron Maier is a Teaching Artist in Chicago Public Schools, as well as with the Community Television Network Workshop. Primarily a digital filmmaker, Aaron’s work has been discussed on NPR’s Weekend Edition, The Onion AV Club, Huffington Post, and Toronto’s National Post. Aaron has completed his latest project with his EIT collective - DoggieWoggiez! PoochieWoochiez! - recently returning from a 60-date tour of independent movie theaters and art spaces throughout the US and Canada.
